Toronto’s most iconic storefront, Honest Ed’s, has been sold and in the first step to empty it out they began selling 1000’s of the hand painted signs that are seen in the windows and throughout the store. Wayne Reuben and Doug Kerr have been painting the signs since the 60’s and line ups to buy them (a maximum of three per person apparently), started at 11:00 am and wrapped around the entire building and had people waiting for upwards of 8 hours. I couldn’t deal with the wait and opted out, but friends of mine have some wonderful pieces of signage and Toronto nostalgia now.

Was gifted these beautifully strange Canadian hip hop cards from an anonymous women the other night. Order anything in the online store and you’ll receive a randomly selected card with your order. Sorry, didn’t find a Drake card in the pack.

In Toronto and looking for the best vegan baked goods AND a place to buy the platinum selling Yo Sick X Way Bad zine? Visit TBC Bakery at Bloor and Lansdowne for both. They just installed an awesome zine rack courtesy of Permanent Sleep Press.
